Elder LaVerne Stuart-Norman, Director

Covering – Pastor Norman/JLAL Church

JoyBell Theme: “Keeping it Real in Christ Jesus”.

JoyBell Scripture:

1 John 5:20 NIV

We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true - even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.

I work with a wonderful group of ladies on the JBM Council: Angela Jackson-Coordinator, Vanessa Clark and Antoinette Gordon. Our desire is to promote a tightly knitted bond between sisters; a three braided cord that is not easily broken. Helping ladies come to the realization that “Keeping it Real” with God and ourselves will bring healing to our lives. It’s only until we receive the freedom of the Son that we are indeed free. Just like Mark 5:33 - the woman with the issue of blood told the whole truth and Jesus spoke wholeness and peace into her life and she was never the same. The days of camouflage are history.

The Director, Elder LaVerne Norman will continually seek God, along with the Council, to hear clearly what direction we should take for each fellowship, service, workshop or conference that God institutes. Evangelism is Key: Battered Women’s Shelters, Homeless Shelters, Nursing Homes, Women’s Homes, etc. We’ve also partnered with organizations to abolish human trafficking. Through it all, we desire that God be glorified. Jesus Is Lord ~ Assembly of Love church covers this ministry and the Pastor is Steve Norman, LaVerne’s husband.

JoyBell is a ministry for all women: Sinners, Confused, Weak, Distraught, Hopeless, Sick, Deceived, Saved, Strong-in-Christ, Five Fold Ministry, First Ladies, Daughters and Lovers of God. First it is geared to support and build up the JoyBell Council, JoyBell Team and the Jesus Is Lord ~ Assembly of Love active women and all ladies throughout the valley. The God-given formats are to ensure that He is first and foremost and all else secondary. When the Holy Spirit leads, individual ministry to those in need goes forth. Fellowship amongst all ladies is a must. No one is to feel alone or left out at JoyBell. It is LaVerne’s desire for the Christian woman to leave built up knowing that their life means something and they are worthy because the Holy Spirit resides in them. 1 Corinthians 3:7  So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.

LaVerne enjoys sharing God’s loving Word so that your mind becomes fixed upon Christ.

Romans 8:6 - For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. What we need to do is simply stand with the Spirit and rely upon Him. We need the deliverance in the spirit. We must set our mind on the spirit. We must learn to trust in God and depend on the Lord. Now we must pray that we drop our striving in our own strength. Lord, help us never to do anything by ourselves to overcome evil or temptation. Rather, help us always to rely on, stand with, and trust in You.

So many woman have been continuously held captive by the bondages of flesh. We meditate more on our wrong doings than we do Christ and His Word. God can work suddenly, but usually it’s a process of release. We must soak ourselves in the presence of God and begin to walk in the reality and freedom of God’s Word. Whom the Son sets free is Free Indeed! One important key is to set our minds on getting into the Word until freedom manifests, and then stay in and obedient to the Word to retain God’s manifestations. How wonderful it will be to wake up in the morning and know that once again Christ is going to flow from your being. You don’t have to worry about the pull of the flesh and make empty resolutions and false promises to yourself. You put active faith in Jesus and simply know that God is able to do in you that which He has promised. Matthew 19:26 "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

So many of us look at the future thinking, “I can never be like God wants me to be.” Or we look at the past, seeing all of our failures and think we will never change, yet, it’s truly about right now, this very moment, you can turn to God and experience His forgiveness as a Christian. Right now, this very instant, you can be the most despicable, the most sin-laden, the most bondage-ridden person in the universe, but in this very instant you can say, “Father, forgive me, I have sinned and fallen short of your glory. I am so thankful for the blood of Jesus. I know that my sin nature is strong. I know that there are bondages in my life, but I am so grateful that as my Father you will continue to love and forgive me until my inner man is strengthened and I receive your deliverance from the bondages of the flesh. Apart from you, I will never amount to anything. But Lord, I am so thankful that I see the preciousness of your sacrifice on the Cross. Father, I know that because of Jesus, I am set free from the guilt and the shame.” Help me daily to walk in your newness of life. It is now that I see your love from the cross and, this love shall lead me into your will because love never fails according to 1 Corinthians 13:8. I am setting my mind upon you as it shall be renewed daily.

LaVerne thanks God for the opportunity to be used to minister the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ through JoyBell. This vision will continually be modified as the Holy Spirit matures, increases and leads.
